Sweet puzzle.
All those years camped in front of the tv before grade school paid off.
[5] He is a well known character, but I dont normally associate him with this particular group. He is more well known, with a different group of friends. Those guys get in all sorts of capers, even when they were babies.

I know this one is relatively easy, but [10] is way too salty. Gives the topic away and makes it easier enough to potentially take the surprise out of that moment when the topic finally becomes apparent and we say "oh!" or "ah-ha!". This one's easy enough that the topic need not be mentioned, nor what items that fit the topic, but didn't make the cut, such as the name stated in [10].

{14] All I needed was one word to get the theme, and the rest was easy without even seeing the salt in [10]

I got to #4 before I got my first answer and the theme.

#2 might have been a bit of a stretch, at least I don't see how to get the first part of the word from the picture, but knowing the theme made it easy. Neat puzzle, very nostalgic.

[20] I almost put Mister Hooper in there < a water mister + person doing hula hoop>, but was afraid people wouldn't remember him.
