ok, I'm confused...getting nowhere - and did anyone notice that both OWWs are the same?

I got nothing...

not the same answer for both thou... I guess the hard one uses more obscure answer words.

crypto was so easy i was four minutes late and got 136th...

hypercross has yet to click in any way even with all the (similar) clues

huh?

wtf???

These pics look so easy, but what am I to do with them now? Any salt on the theme?

i'm with everyone else on this one!

GRRRR "R" :^)

please r-knot... any salt?

nice pepperhead for your [8] comment, just got it!

He's not here tonight

Wow. Pretty cool! The title, as usual, is the clue.

I thought I knew... BZZZZZ

has anyone solved it yet?

I don't get it!!! :(

Salt please?

Why is the difficulty at one star???

[17] average of the votes so far

We're fumbling...

Beautiful! Very clever puzzle!

cuz the guy that rated it has the answers

[20] That's nice... now SPILL IT! :)

OMG! This is such a freaking awesome puzzle! TRULY evil, Arnott!

Very, very nice.

edited - too salty.

It is hard to get a good clue without giving this away, but maybe if you look cross-eyed at the puzzle it would help.

[20] and [12] how about a push in the right direction? pleeease?

The second word of the title is VERY important.

nm - wouldn't matter anyways

Arnott, you are very evil tonight.
Or, in the words of Gomez Addams:

"Dirty pool old man - I like it!"

(the above has no salt, just a statement to A.)

13 solves so far

and no help - nice friendly bunch of folks here tonight

[25] i didn't see any salt! salt anyone?

Great puzzle Arnott...

The clues are not attached to their entries.

[34] ?

You wanted salt. I gave it.
For example, #1 has nothing to do with bozo or lunch.

[25][27][34] are all salty. [27] is what got it for me.

Wicked. Beautiful.

[34] What? How did you figure that out? Good ol' evil Arnott!

wow...I'm not getting anywhere on this one!! Someone help!!!

Wow, that was tough.

[37] even with that salt - none of my "answers" will fit anywhere...else...

[34] Thanks. Looking back, it makes sense.

[34] did it for me. Thanks

not to me...how do you solve a puzzle if the answers don't match the clues?

[34], [36] You sure did, and rubbed it right into my wounds. Just what I needed :)

I don't know...this puzzle seemed like a mess to me. :)

you know, it may be a brilliant puzzle, but - it's not really any fun, so...good night all

I'm impressed by you people who solved it w/out salt... I would be looking at this for at least another hour before I able to come up with the solution on my own.

Take a look at the clues that APPEAR to be the same. there lies your answer on the theme. Than the answers just fall into place. 33rd and in awe of the knot once again.

Yeah [34] is what did it for me, thank you, cool puzzle

[34] did it for me, too. Man, that one was hard to get going on! Really clever idea, though.

[50] Huh? Hmm, good thing I have 2 computers next to either other!

Very creative.
Great puzzle.

I just compared two clues, and they are the same, so I'm not sure what that tells me.

That was hilarious!

could someone TG me a swift kick of a clue please?

Thanks, [34]. This is a clever puzzle, but I think it needs a slightly better initial hint.

[57] Done

It's too bad Arnott couldn't be here tonight to see us all twist in the wind with this one!

OK ... I got it by figuring out all the words and fitting them into the spaces, but that seems kind of brute force. Was there a better way to solve this that I missed?

Yeah, I need help. Neither staring at the clues nor reading the hints in the comments are getting me anywhere. = (

okay, I solved it, but I'm not sure I solved it the right way -- that was crazy

It helps to make a list, but not necessary.

It's brilliant. The clues are always one step ahead of the entries.

I have a list, but everything I've tried doing with it hasn't worked.

I have a list, but everything I've tried doing with it hasn't worked.

I definitely solved it the "cheaters" way. I found it when I looked at the pictures side by side.

Congratulations, you've succeeded in fooling us once more! :)
