I got this two months ago. It is fun to play and easy to learn. Does require some thinking. Me and my kids have played it once a week since I got it. Well worth it!
I've held off buying this game the last few times it was offered, but with it being OOP and a good price, I finally caved and bought one. That's two Tanga purchases in less than a week for me. Keep the good games at good prices coming!
Hmm I guess I dont fell to bad about paying $1 more last time. I hope I can catch some of the other uberplay clearances. I didnt get a copy of hansa or china.
fwiw, I don't think China will be reprinted... at least not for a while... my guess would be that Rio Grande Games will reprint "Web of Power", of which "China" is a retheming/reworking of.
A game about interior decorating might not sound like a winner, but this game is surprisingly fun and enjoyable. Mechanics are solid enough to keep gamers happy, and the theme might bring reluctant non-gamers to the table. A good game, and at less than 8 bucks an excellent bargain.
Wow, a whole penny less than 8 bucks... I would be more included to say it's $8 for all intent and purposes. And with shipping it's more than that, but still a bargin.
fwiw, I bought this game before Uberplay announced they would distribute it in North America... I imported it as part of an order from Germany and paid more than $8 (and shipping from Germany was more than $6 :))
Good deal. The second game I've bought in less than a week. The rules are very easy to learn and teach and the game itself is much more fun than any game about interior decoration has any right being.
This is an excellent game that is very fun to play...I bought it when it was first offered here and I have played it MANY times. I recommend it. I will be buying any Uberplay games offered for a decent price here that I do not already own.
This is a great game, easy enough for young kids to play and have fun but enough strategy for well seasoned boardgame veterans. I play this with my daughter(13) my twin sons(10) and another son (8).
We have played many games and yes one of my twins actually beat me once.
I can't give the Boardgame Babylon Seal of Approval to California. It feels a bit like a dry run on Zooloretto or an idea that should have just been discarded. One of the least satisfying Schacht games, as it is neither compelling nor has a key mechanic that distinguishes it Schacht's other games.
The only thing it has going for it is a bizarre theme (uh, renovating your house so you can get housewarming gifts). As a lifelong Californian and lover of the Golden State, I had to get one but it will likely stay in the shrinkwrap...
And yet - please buy it so we can get a new game up here! ;)

I'm glad to see that Tanga still has some Uberplay stuff left in the warehouse. Keep it coming!

I'm holding out for Wildlife ;)
This is a very fun/quick tile laying game. Undervalued by many people.

[2] Wildlife is OOP, as is China, sadly. Perhaps another publisher will pick them up.

[3] Ummm.....all of Uberplay is OOP. http://www.uberplay.com/ It is unfortunate, but they are gone. Hopefully, many of their titles will be picked up.

[5] Yes, I knew that...what I meant is that those two games have been gone for awhile now, so not much chance they'll show up on Tanga.

[18] It is, just make sure you use the 2 player rules provided in the game.
My girlfriend watches HGTV all the time and loves playing this game.

[27] Have to agree with you there Sheylon, it's pretty unimpressive. I played it when it was new, and didn't find anything really compelling about it.
Dry run at Zooloretto? Hadn't thought about it that way.
