This is a tool for helping people quit smoking -- what's wrong with that? I'm much more upset by the "swoopo" ads, as swoopo is completely a scam and anyone participating is doing nothing but random gambling.
So many people are addicted to smoking and need a way out. This helps people with that step. I see nothing wrong with trying to give people a healthier alternative to that goal.
Luci is the best alternative to smoking; however, it is not marketed as or meant to be a smoking cessation device. For that claim to be valid, long-term tests must prove its efficacy for that purpose. Current smoking cessation products deliver nicotine in different ways, different amounts, and may require prescriptions to obtain. If you wish to stop smoking we advise you to use FDA approved smoking cessation products. Moreover, you should not use our product if you are taking these nicotine supplements to prevent over-consumption. Our smoking product is not intended for, non-smokers, ex-smokers, or those who wish to stop cigarette smoking altogether. It may not be used as a way to temporarily or permanently treat nicotine addiction or any other disease for that matter.
How's this rated on the Geek? It's an ok theme (who doesn't like smoking?!?), but I wonder about how original the mechanics are. Seems like just another euro habit to me!
My sister showed up at my Father's home with one of these over Christmas. When she started puffing at the table, it freaked me out. The damn things look real. The end actually lights red like a real cigarette-tip ember and the smoke is genuine. Since I am an occasional smoker, she told me to try it which I did. It freaked me out even more - I don't want to fake my own death.
However, I can clearly see why this might be a legitimate way to deal with nicotine addiction if it is at all.
[2][3] seriously??? who care's if that is what tanga is doing, they aren't, but who cares. tanga also sells the lockpicking kit....oh no...they're promoting breaking and entering!
Several guys at work had bought these - two of them have stopped working less than 6 months later. I wonder if Tanga offers a product replacement plan... :)
i suppose the mouth is better than some places people stick electrical things, [26] ;)
I was pretty worried i would get to the bottom of the description and see "This item has been refurbished"
Gonna withhold judgment on this until I've wrapped my mind around it a little better. My knee jerk "smoking is bad!" reaction may be getting in the way.
When you're at the drugstore and see a big box of nicotine gum for sale, don't you ever wonder if anyone has skipped the nasty habit and gone directly for the gum addiction?
The first thing I thought of when I saw this was all these nutty, quit-smoking devices that were in an old Mad paperback I used to have. Some of the joke ideas in the particular article weren't far from this.
the 3rd hand smoker is the person who suffers effects from the crap left in the environment (carpet, furniture, etc) after the cigarette smoke is no longer visible.
babies with their fragile lungs, and time spent chewing on things and rolling about on the carpet makes them susceptible to the left over toxins.

This thing is great! It's not really smoke though, it's an alternative. It looks like smoke & feels like smoking, but it's just a water vapor.

I don't see this as promoting smoking, just a lesser evil to those already addicted.
I am interested in these to to support my relative whose stuck in a chair with a broken leg and used to smoking outside the house.
Black? Ugh. That screams "look at me--no, it's not a cigarello"
How much are refills?

well technically, this isn't smoking...I guess.
This is still a little ridiculous.
"non-smoking" tobacco products have been tried countless times before, each failing miserably. I can't see this working out much better.

Best of all - this product does not violate smoking bans. With this you can "smoke" indoors at bars, restaurants, work, on airplanes, etc..

[5] On their website (see research link), 50 for $90 or 5 flavored for $10.
This product looks cool. I don't smoke. I wonder how safe it really is. Is only tar carcinogenic? Nicotine itself isn't?

Is this a “kick the habit” device?

If it's not for "non-smokers, ex-smokers, or those who wish to stop cigarette smoking," then who is it for?
