Hmmmp!
Just finished a marathon Die Macher game (came in 2nd out of 5) but it was a 10 hour game... and then - this is the first puzzle I open.... and there are 0 solves after 37 minutes.... oww! oww! oww! oww!
[29][34] If you think go instead of chess, the zeroes can make sense. But I did this and plotted things and don't know what to with it. I can fit the 37 tiles in there in an awkward way, but it looks like nothing to me.
[50] Yes, I did only use 27 tiles, and it does sorta look like an elephant. I've flipped it and turned it and played background/foreground, but nothing.
[47][52] Regarding tiles: start by picturing a board as described in [21]. Then, using the numbers, fill the board in with "tiles". The puzzle is supposed to use 37, but some of us only end up using 27.
[53] but but - I still don't know what to do with the 00 ? - I'm having problems with it, because if I number from 1-6 and 1-9 the zeros throw me, and if I number from zero the nine doesn't fit
My hear really hurts...
We need to come up with an appropriate number for the Excedrin headache:
Excedrin headache number 2889?
[56] Yeah, I know. I guess I started counting at 0 for the left numbers, but started counting at 1 for the right numbers. No reason to do so other than that's the only way I could make them all fit.
Okay, so if we use the coordinates as the points for the corners of the tiles, I can see how that would define the 27 tiles, but not how we can get 37.
FWIW, google isn't giving me a lot of love on "Phan Tnut" or "Mrikit Nith". I'm feeling a tad geographically inept. Is this a red herring, or additional clue?
[68] Yeah, so I've been focused on that. Having been stuck for a while, however, I got curious. Then I got a bit suspicious when I couldn't locate those places.

A bit of a guess, I'll admit. I don't know what the real method was, but those getting 27 squares are on the right track. Also add
