that wasn't the answer i was getting - it is the ERROR message..sorry. Should have been specific. Still...i can't get anything but the error message in response.
My first puzzle, guys!! I was whining about US-centric puzzles, and it was suggested that I do something to redress the balance. So, here it is.
Here's a bit of trivia: when Nelson Mandela was released from twenty-seven years of prison, his first question was supposedly about the subject of this puzzle.
Hi [19], I'm sorry if you found this one annoying. It's just an example for you of how I have to go searching before I can solve a lot of puzzles here. I don't mind the searching - sometimes I discover some interesting things that I wasn't aware of. I thought you might like to hear about this particular celeb - he's very important to many people around the world. I also thought you might know the duck and the actor. Apologies.
Hi [25], thanks very much. I tried to give a few different clues that might send you in the right direction, plus one little red herring. You should have seen the original that I submitted - there would have been complaints ;-)
Oh, [24], you are obviously acquainted with Jana Pittman, the Australian runner who won the 400m hurdles World Championship 8 months after the birth of her first child. You guys sure know your sports!
Thanks for the feedback, Vivictus! I hope there really aren't very many answers that will make sense with 99 and .94. Those numbers can take you straight to the answer. Sorry my puzzle did not amuse.
More trivia... in Australia, the Post Office Box Number for the ABC (the national broadcast network) is always 9994, no matter what state you are in. Why? Answer this trivia, and you will have the solution.
I don't understand all the whining. There is more than enough clues in the puzzle to get the answer. The background character was all I needed to start my search and it's not like the characters chosen are obscure. Everyone just needs to chill a bit.
Thanks for all the kind words, people. Welcome to my world. This is what doing puzzles on Tanga is always like for me. I enjoy it, but culture sure makes a big difference.
never 'eard 'f 'im, mate.
But I did watch the match between India and Pakistan while I was in Bangalore a few years ago. stopped the country. still can't understand that game. crikey!

Don't look in the Northern Hemisphere for the answer (in fact, look West of the International Dateline).

Once you just put in what you see, you have it. (It may not make sense, but as mentioned above, you can certainly find it quite easily)
