edit - Uhm, I was referring the a group of the pictured type of people that had a heyday in San Fran... wow I can't believe I over analyzed that...
yikes...help anyone? I have the element...got what kind of person it is sorta I think... just not sure what else I'm missing?

Although the word "dude" has been around since the 1800's, it didn't become part of mainstream linguistics until the 1980's NOT the 60's or the 70's.
