OK, that's very odd, and I'm not sure I like it. It's a fairly clever puzzle, except that the faces pictured have very specific names, and you don't use those names in the solution, and that's kind of a weird red herring.
Not sure how you are lead to anything in this puzzle. I also found the expressions which actually lead you down the wrong path!
This is definitely not an EOWW
Now that I've closed the window with the right names for these pictures, I'm a little lost about how to find the names the puzzle-maker wants me to use. Can anyone hint on a proper solve method here?
This is like one of those "leave lots of hints around to the specific thing needed" puzzles. That kinda thing is usually to tricky to do.
I think we were supposed to combine Yoda and Pink Floyd, but you have to know to lean to the Yoda part and neither of those really tell you what kind of thing to look for. If the filename was supposed to do that, then I agree with [6]. :P And the face name red herring removes all hope of finding the right path.
I think I'm just strange. but often the flavor text gives me an answer right away. often it's the correct one. you know how they say take your first guess.
Solve it, I can't. The webpage with the faces, I found.
But no good it was.
(P.S. No salt this is)
[19] Thanks....that KKK hint did it for me....got three of the letters and guessed from there. Other symbolic pictures instead of faces would be a VAST improvement.
I got stuck for quite a while trying to figure out what the faces represented. That's an awfully vague step.
Reading that pic 3 was the KKK in the first draft immediately gave me the right word for that, which then reminded me of the exact quote that unlocked the whole thing.
Too bad you had to scrap a great clue in the name of Political Correctness...
[20] Just to be clear: I never showed the mods my first draft, so they weren't given the opportunity to choose one over the other. It was self-censorship because, well, there's some imagery I'm uncomfortable putting in a puzzle. Less the fact that I grew up in Texas, more that race is a touchy subject with me. The other pictures weren't as bad, but they weren't exactly nice either.
Anyway, I hope the salt in [19] assuages some of the cries of a red herring too far.
No, the "names" for those faces aren't exactly what you need, but they imply the terms you DO need, if you put that together with the Yoda reference. That's what makes this a *PUZZLE*, rather than just an exercise in "match the face with the iconic poster images".

After yesterday's easy OWW, a more typical tanga puzzle. Look! Numbers!

2nd... nice...
...and that puts me over 5000 points! Yay!
*ahem* Well, so my wife solved this one, I guess she gets all the credit.

But the 5 face doesn't make sense.

I'm getting as far on this as I did on that. ;)
I agree with [3].... I found these exact faces, and the "5" doesn't make sense. There's only three there.

[5] I agree -- using different words for those standard faces is a dirty trick. I'm not fond of burying clues in filenames either.

I agree with [5]. I eventually ignored most of the puzzle and guessed it based on the apparent number of letters and a key word in the puzzle.

[5] I agree. The fact that the faces are very recognizable and specific make this not good.

OK. It took me some time when it really shouldn't have since I am a big fan. I was thrown by a couple of the comments; however, [5] and [6] helped me.

Once I knew that yoda was the important part the significance of the faces was pretty apparent. Good puzzle jgf, but I agree, too many red herrings.

Sorry, I was at practice so I couldn't respond to comments until now. In retrospect, I can see many of the complaint people are giving.
I probably should have stuck my first draft idea: for example, picture 3 (the leftmost one) was KKK klaner, but it was scrubbed for PC reasons.

I really hated the faces since I have them on my fridge. They are not supposed to be:
Frightened
Enraged
Angry
Sad

I got it, because I'm not burdened by the correct labels from the well-known emotion poster.
You kind of have to be a Star Wars nerd to know the Yoda quote from Phantom Menace, which begins, "Fear is the path to the dark side..."

I really think this one was unreasonable.
Too many vague elements, wrong images, knowledge of trivia required... = not a lot of fun.
Thanks for the effort, though.
