The paddle comes after the speech bubble, not before. That threw me for a bit.

I can't even guess what this might mean....
Is this puzzle related to the movie "Stripes" where Bill is giving the girl the "Aunt Jemimah Treatment"? I don't think I've ever asked anyone a question ending in "or tongs"!!
