[1] That's ok, neither have my brain cells needed to solve this one.

do trees have anything to do with it?

3 solvers so far, so it's not hopeless
heatherlouwho
Huh?
[7] But I'd almost bet it was guessing.
threehojos
[3] Ha! Me too...
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:25 PM |
still only 3, so perhaps you're right [9]
It would be most generous if the three who solved would share a tiny grain of salt with the rest of us!

I've discovered methods for multiple answers, but none are 'right'...
think backwards
i enjoy these kind of puzzles!
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:27 PM |
.
[14] I recognized the backwards, but WHAT?
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:28 PM |
look at what it says
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:29 PM |
[18] Saw that right away...

[18] I see the word, I see the numbers, I can't get anything from them.
Is that gray area between the numbers/letters and the trees important?
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:34 PM |
Don't over think this. The word that's there only applies to some of what you see.
slog
Up to 15 solves.
Salt?
Got it. VERY strange solve method.
Look at the numbers, and think about the word. That's all I can say without being too salty.
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:35 PM |
[21] No, it doesn't
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:36 PM |
do the trees matter???
[24] Yeah, I was trying to explain it without saying too much stuff. It is a very strange solve method, but if you think about it, you will get it.
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:37 PM |
[26] Only tangentially. Not directly.
[26] Not for the solve, but they do kind of "hint" at the ultimate answer
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:39 PM |
for a second i though you said "tanga"entially..lol [28] plus i keep getting gibberish

do we somehow use the numbers from 1-10 that have homophones?
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:41 PM |
[31] WAY too salty!
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:42 PM |
three does not have homophone..[31]

[31] may be salty, but I've been working with that for some time and coming up with nothing!

[31] I gathered as much from the other clues, but something is still missing.

There are too many variations that give words. I still don't have a good feel for how the bottom 5 numbers are used.

I need another nudge, if anybody's got a little one...

Maybe too much salt, but half of them have homophones. I was missing one and it really messed me up.
[50] Me as well, please?

Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:53 PM |
tdallis, why arent u getting the answer!!!!!!!!!!!
I think public nudges are better at this point, unless you feel like sending a LOT of TGs. ;)
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:54 PM |
omg camrack... is there a homophone for 5
I'm betting you'd get the last homophone if I put my attack dog on you!
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:55 PM |
[57] Very good salt. That was the one I was missing.
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:56 PM |

Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:57 PM |
finally - I kept geting gibberish by using "tin" - why is this not included?
Well, I've HAD the homophones - can't get the next step! ACK!
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:58 PM |
Yikes, that was WAYYYYY too random... lots of loose ends that you never use.
[64] TG please?? :)
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 07:59 PM |
[61] Because it's not one, not even close. :)
[52] Ah, that's what I was missing, too.
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 08:00 PM |
anyone TG me at this point cuz im failing...
EDIT: only found homophones for 1, 2, 4, 8
[65] Look at [52] and [57]. The five numbers at the bottom relate to those.
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 08:01 PM |
[68] The last one is "spelled out" in [57].
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 08:03 PM |
Thanks for the salt all Got it...didn't like it... [64] I agree!
I like the method, but I think 10 is so close a fit that it is a serious distraction, making this puzzle flawed. For me anyway. Nice to see a new method.

[72] [73] You mean that if you say "ten tin boxes", those first two words sounds exactly alike? Not close, but exactly alike?
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 08:15 PM |
I have all the pieces of the puzzle.. just dont know what to do with them
Posted on Wed Apr 23, 2008 08:18 PM |
