Although the description says 12.5 folding ladder, the consumer needs to be aware that folded as a step ladder, it is only a 6 foot ladder.

I bought this ladder and used it several times with no issues. I was then using it 8' up in the air with the last 3' of legs going against an outside wall. I had read another review where the ladder failed and the person fell to the ground. The same thing happened to me. I fell and hit the corner of a metal emergency generator. I had disregarded the review I had read before of the ladder failing assuming that the person did not have it installed correctly. I can now attest that the reviewer was correct. This ladder could potentially fail at anytime in future use if bought. I was injured, but not extensively. One of the sides of the ladderr just rippled and buckled. I contacted Tanga, but have not received any replies.

After using this ladder appropriately one side of the ladder buckled and I fell 8 feet onto a metal generator. It worked week until that point. I would never trust using anything made by this company again. Don't bother contacting them. They don't return messages.

Projects around the house are much easier. Fascinated by the ease of changing the configurations to match the height of project.
