Description
The Love To Dream Swaddle UP Transition Suit is a gentle transition solution, which helps preserve a baby’s precious sleep routine and is perfect for babies who are ready to transition & love the secure feeling of a swaddle. Babies between two to three months grow fast, and when they are able to roll over, they are ready to transition from a swaddle to arms-free sleep. This transition can sometimes be hard because babies may still have some startle reflex present and they are used to swaddling. The Love To Dream team designed the Swaddle UP Transition Suit – which is part of Stage 2 in the Love To Dream’s 3 Stage Sleep System – to make this transition easy for both baby and parents. This transition swaddle shares the same features as the Swaddle UP Transition Bag, but with the added versatility of the unique Self-Soothing Sleeves and suit-like legs. Specially designed shorter zip-off Self-Soothing Sleeves provide a swaddling effect with the mitten cuffs folded over – perfect for babies that have been swaddled arms down. The Swaddle UP Transition Suit will gently transition your baby from sleeping snug in a swaddle towards having the independence of sleeping with his or her arms free in a sleep suit. The zipper design makes it easy to go back to the original swaddle design if your baby is not ready to transition. Once your little one is comfortable with both wings removed, the Swaddle UP Transition Suit can be used like a snug and comfortable sleep suit, but with baby still feeling secure. Since 2008, Love To Dream has been finding simple, yet genius solutions to everyday parenting and baby needs. Love everything about this pajama!

We used this as a transition out of the Merlin suit for my 4.5 month old. We tried other sleep sacks like kyte baby and nested bean however my daughter appears to not like her legs restricted. Moms on call recommend just footie pajamas so that the baby can have natural movement during sleep so I took that into consideration when opting for this suit. It’s similar to the Merlin in that the feet and legs are open and separate rather than closed like a sleep sack. Not sure if it’s related but the first night we used this my daughter also spit out her pacifier and didn’t need it to fall asleep. She was asleep in about 2 mins. I will say the pattern is ugly and the material isn’t as soft as their swaddles but it’ll do. I also like the option of having hands up by face like their swaddle, one arm out, both arms out etc. and I do appreciate the mitten and footie feature of this suit as well. You truly can customize it to your babies needs which is cool. My daughter is 14 lbs and long for her age and has plenty of room to grow in this suit. I imagine we will be using it for quite a while, which is good since it’s a bit pricey for what it is. Glad my daughter enjoys it and I’m glad it is helping us get out of that merlin suit as my daughter adored that thing. Also this is so close to just being footie pajamas that there’s no “well what will we use after we wean out of this” phase like with swaddles, sleep sacks, etc. so far it’s a win for us and I’m glad I can stop wasting money on things that don’t work.
