It has a wide opening lid for easy cleaning and filling, and a smooth, flat base for maximum contact and rapid boiling. Chantal’s enamel-on-steel teakettles are made with magnetic carbon steel which means they will work on all cooktops, INCLUDING magnetic induction. 1.8 qt. usable capacity. Limited warranty.

I got this to replace an old Chantal enamel kettle and so far it's great! I prefer an enamel kettle, and the handle stays cool. The only thing is it doesn't really whistle. The box says whistle but then the instructions say "this whistle may occasionally not sound" (is it a whistle if it doesn't sound? it hasn't sounded yet). So don't forget that it's on the stove!

I’d give this a 3.5 out of 5 because the lid is so insanely hard to remove. I’ve found it’s best to remove it when it’s still hot, but you’ll have to wear oven mitts of course. Also the manual says the whistle may not go off sometimes. Huh? What’s the point of getting a whistling kettle then? I’ve always had it whistle, so far, but I don’t like that I have to worry about this. Speaking of whistle, it can be very loud. Piercing like a screaming banshee. As for rust, just make sure you dry the lid and spout after each use, and don’t leave water in the kettle for hours.
