I have already gone through my herb garden and have started flowers just for fun. I do need to learn how to transplant to other containers before spring because all my herbs died when I tried to relocate them but I think I just waited too long. I also like how it brightens up my countertop.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the idea of hydroponics and this is a great project for my kids and I to do to have plants over winter. It was easy to set up and the directions are super simple! We originally planned to put it in my son’s room- but it is loud when running! It also doesn’t work with an outlet timer: every time the timer shuts off, the switch on the unit resets. Oh well, either way, a great introduction to hydroponic growing- and the clear front lets us see the root growth. How cool!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This came in a big box with a water container and a lamp. It was very easy for my son to set it up and the instructions are clear and colorful. It is a different type of growing. No soil is needed. Just add water and seeds in the pod. After 24 hours, a couple seeds sprouted. Pretty amazing. My son definitely checks on the seeds every day and is in charge of turning off the lamp at night.

I’ve found it’s a nice way to pull the kids away from their screens! The kit has a nice big instruction pamphlet with other neat activities kids will enjoy. It shows you step by step how to set everything up and have successful plants. NOTE: Seeds are NOT included. Not a big deal just remember to grab seeds so the kids can get it up and going right away. What I like is not only kids learn about plants, plant care and tending to them but how you can use them. We looked up recipes to use our mint and basil we grew and the kids had an active part using them cooking. It’s really a fun educational gift idea for kids!
