Much to my dismay after my last dental cleaning the dental tech informed me I had some swollen gum areas. And, after the use of a dental pick at my dental visit and dental cleaning those irritated gums hurt even more. So, I ended up getting this toothpaste since it is supposed to help with weak areas. The toothpaste is all right as far as taste--not too sweet, gritty or harsh tasting. It was okay on my sensitive gums too. After several days of brushing with this toothpaste at least twice a day my gums look a nice normal pink color and feel better as well. It also has an ingredient that can aid in cavity protection as well. As for whitening of teeth I don't know about that(?). I got the deep clean one not the whitening one--but then some whitening toothpastes can be abrasive on teeth after awhile (sometimes better to talk with your dentist about whitening products). I am happy with the results I got as for as my gums go and will continue to use it. Just realize that toothpaste is just part of good dental hygiene-limiting lots of sugary drinks and candy, brushing flossing and regular dental check-ups all play a role in that. Read more
