We have tried other similar STEM toys and nothing has come anywhere near as close to perfection as Augie! The free app that brings Augie truly to life is intuitive, fun, and developmentally appropriate for my little ones. They are loving building commands for Augie and working through the games, and I'm excited to see them jump feet first into coding. Seeing my 5 and 7 year old take full control of this robot is nothing short of amazing, and the possible activities seem endless. Other STEM toys we've tried get boring quickly, but Augie offers so many variations of activities, abilities to control sound and movement, and so much more. The modes of progression play make it a toy that is easily adaptable for both my older two, as well as my 3 year old, who has had very limited experience with a tablet or coding of any type. I loved how easy and intuitive both the app and robot were to figure out ... there was very little learning curve and we started having fun with it right out of the box! My only wish is that it was also compatible with an iPhone. I can't wait to see how my little ones continue to grow in their confidence and familiarity with coding and STEM as a result of this amazing coding robot!

This toy brings IPad play to a new level. We were greatly impressed that our nine year old was able to set up the account all by herself. The instructions were easy to follow. Once the account was ready to go, the laughter started. I general dislike most games my children play on their IPad but this device is a unique exception. The games allow the kids to challenge themselves and learn new technology. I appreciate the environment gives my children the ability to learn coding in a fun and interactive way. I hope Augie allows my children to learn to appreciate technology and maybe strive to learn more.

It feels like there is so much pressure as a parent to raise a genius kid- which is basically impossible. However, this incredible toy is helping my daughter learn programming basics, asbstract thought processes, robotics, and a wide range of other technological skills via play. We love the AR integration of the drag and drop programming that my daughter is actually learning in school. The set up is extremely easy with wonderful directions. I had the robot up and running within five minutes. The ability to differentiate the level of user is amazing and makes this a great a product. The mechanics of the robot are also well made and it seems sturdy enough to take a few accidental kicks and drops. I like that my kid is able to use her iPad for something other than just passively watching Netflix as well. It is so great that she is growing up in a time where she has access to such fun and exciting tech toys that are targeted to a much wider audience than they once were! I highly recommend this cool toy!! It would be great for classroom use too!

My 10 yr old son always wanted to be in robotics at school and this robot just gave him a head start. He absolutely loves working with computers and learning codes. With this robot he gets to do all that and more. He is able to give his robot a personality and learn different types of coding plus play different kinds of games with it. Him and his friends play and have little coding challenges with it. We just can't get over all the awesome things this robot actually does.

Very cool! Well made, so many settings and fun things to do. I have a 5 year old and a 9 year old and they both have loved it. The games are a blast, and even on free roam they have so much fun. The only problem is that connectivity is sometimes a little spotty. It mostly works well, but in a augmented reality game sometimes the app has a hard time recognizing Augie. The set up also wasn't a breeze. You connect to Augie two different ways and switching between the two isn't easy. If auto connect is turned on that messes up the app. The app also freezes on the trying to connect screen. Overall it would be a great gift. Eventually if they made some updates to the app it might work even better.

Augie is very cool, and with a few tweaks could be awesome. First, the info on the box mentions a camera adapter and arm adapter, both of which I couldn’t find any additional information on, not even on the manufacturer’s website. I understand it’s a new product, but if you’re going to advertise something, you should be able to offer it to purchase. There was a spelling error in the app, which is disappointing considering this is a learning toy (height was misspelled as “hight”). As far as age appropriateness, my 5 1/2 year old liked the free play mode, but the actual coding part was a bit over his head, especially since he needed to read the prompts and he’s only in preschool, so he can’t read freely yet. Setup was fairly easy, and the app is easy to navigate. Some of the levels in the “coding classroom” were confusing to get Augie to do what it was meant to do, and the app isn’t much help to explain exactly what needs to be done to complete the task and move to the next one. The unit itself is sleek and sturdy (we have 4 kids 5 and under, so delicate things don’t last long in our house), and the display screen is small but the icons are clear and easy to see. The charger is specific to Augie, which will be annoying if it ever gets broken (most everything else in our house uses micro USB or lightning cable to charge, so we have those cords in spades). Overall, this is a fun learning toy, and I’m hoping once it’s been on the market for a little while there will be more tweaks made. I was given this product by Target in exchange for an honest review.
