I haven't had much luck with manual knife sharpeners. This electric sharpener did a decent job in much less time.

Sharpens knives and scissors nicely

Seems to be working great. I had my doubts but then I sharpened a couple of very old very dull knives and then used them for cutting very ripe tomatoes. Amazingly, no squirting all over the kitchen, perfect slices instead. The sharpener works quietly and the wheels don't stop spinning when I apply pressure on the knives.

This electric knife sharpener works pretty well. It's easy to use, just the push of a button and proper knife placement. It is durable and does a fine job. No issues!

This electric knife sharpener uses a set of various grit diamond coated discs and a porcelain rod to achieve the perfect knife edge. All the discs are mounted on a single axle powered by a small motor with angled slots used to precisely position the knife blade against the wheels. It comes with a set of directions on tips for sharpening knives, scissors and serrated knives. To sharpen a knife, turn the motor on, place a knife edge in the right slot, draw it towards you 3 or four times repeat on the opposite side. The sharpener has three slots starting with coarse, then medium and finishing off with fine sharpening. As the sharpening disc is close to the edge, I had to make sure to draw the knife blade towards me while keeping it on the bottom. Also be sure to position the machine with the on/off switch towards you.It took some practice to learn how to positioning the knife properly and what speed to move the blade but once you get onto it, the result was excellent. My knives had sharp even edges and it takes less than a minute to complete the job. I did notice a light line develop along the blade of the knife that seemed to be caused by the plastic slot. I don't know whether it's a scratch or just a mark from the plastic slot. It didn't bother me as my knives are older but you may want to test the sharpener on an older knife before using it on your best knives that you don't want scratched. It also has an angled open slot for sharpening scissors. As with the knives, I needed practice to get this method of sharpening "honed". Stored in the bottom is a round protective finger sleeve for the including porcelain rod, (for fine tuning) and a removable magnet that works to pick up metal shavings.Bottom Line: Slick sharpening system that works very well! I would recommend taking some time to practice to learning how to properly use it by using older knives. Once mastered, it took less than a minute to sharpen almost any kitchen knife. Smaller knives are a little more difficult to position, but many can be sharpened as well. I wouldn't recommend this for sharpening small pocket knives.

Works better than expected. Bought to replay another brand that I've had for over 20 years. Was going to replay with same model, but was out of my budget at the time of ordering, so I went with this one. Less expensive, quieter, and works better than the model I was going to go with. I lucked out with this one....bonus, I also get to sharpen all my scissors and kitchen shears.
