I bought this heating system to put in the backpack I use for carrying my 15-year-old mini dachshund during hikes with my two larger dogs. It keeps him warm on the lowest setting and serves as a lap warmer when we aren't hiking in the cold NE winter. I plan to take it on a winter camping trip next week to tuck into my sleeping bag. I'm looking to keep my best friends, Junior & Porkchop, warm while they sit on the bottom of a shopping cart for out shopping tours. So, I searched, and searched... and searched while thinking about a 'portable' heating pad or something comparable to a hot flat brick while ignorant of all the battery powered heated clothing and whatnot that I started seeing in my search. Then I happened upon this very nice hand warmer. Bingo! Seeing a handsome price and product, I hit buy it now and I'm quite pleased that I did.Arrived fast, immediately charged the battery pack until completion which took 4-5 hours as expected, then simply press the button for a few sends and it lights up with a catchy digital readout starting at 45 (percent i guess) with 6 total incremental heat settings, and warms up immediately. There may be more to the settings; I haven't exhausted all my button pushing yet.Thus far and overall: Very Pleased.I'm hard to please with the hit or miss products out there; this is a hit. Delegated as the chihuahua brothers warming pad, this hand warmer works great as intended.My 02: It is a tad small for XL hands, I think you'll fit but I'll offer that it's best for normal and small size hands- again, that's just my .02 cents.I do know (2) 5 lb dogs that find it very appealing while traveling through 20° F temperature.
