When Tanga was born 8 years ago, the Daily Fun section was a big part of our humble beginnings. Our original product offerings were board games – one single board game for sale every night. Puzzles were also published each night alongside of the deal of the day to help bring a new slate of visitors to the site, if only to challenge their noggins with brainteasers & puzzles. We are proud to say that over the years, we saw:

• ~ 15k user contributed puzzles.
• ~ 10k published puzzles.
• Over 3.5 million puzzles solved.

As the years have passed, Tanga has grown to be much more than fun and games. With our daily deals side of our site flourishing, we’ve slowly come to the realization that we need to become more focused on continuing to grow the ecommerce side of our company. That’s why it’s with sadness that we’ve come to a tough and emotional decision. As of September 30, Daily Fun and its associated discussion forum will no longer be updated and will be removed completely.

We Tried…

Over the past year we had high hopes to extend the life of our Daily Fun puzzles and games. We even went as far as to come up with a new name, an entire new design, and domain name to transfer and continue building the community outside of Tanga. We called it ThoughtLobster and it had a fun mascot we named Claude. As development went from a sprint to a slow walk to standing still, reality set in that we just couldn’t do it justice in the long term.

Want to Take Over Daily Fun/ThoughtLobster?

We know that there are smart people in the Daily Fun community that might have the chops and energy to help continue Daily Fun/ThoughtLobster outside of Tanga. So Daily Fun (and new ThoughtLobster) is for sale or barter. If you are interested, please contact me via Tangagram for more information.

We are hopeful that this is not a goodbye, but just a see you later and that Daily Fun will exist in some form in the not so distant future.

There are a few people to whom we want to give a ginormous shout out. We owe a HUGE thank you to Arnott & Renfurdson. Without their tireless efforts and creative spark, the Daily Fun couldn’t have existed. They have been the driving force behind the fun. They are Tanga heroes.

Additionally, for years we’ve had some very special moderators that have kept Daily Fun going, weeding out the naughty and/or lame puzzles, and providing SALT to bewildered puzzlers. Heartfelt thanks to Murdoctor, Scoutmom, Jebediehard, and Sonjahi… as well as past Moderators RPardoe, Cyncat, Verve, Leadfoot, Steph_Frolin, and Gst.
