Today, it’s fun with spoonerisms, named after the right Reverend William Archibald Spooner. Here are a few examples:

The lord is a shoving leopard (the lord is a loving shepherd).

The reverend to a lady says, “you’ll soon be had as a matter of course” (you’ll soon be mad as a hatter of course).

And a spectacularly clever one: “I’d rather have a bottle in front o’ me than a prefrontal lobotomy.”
