If you spend any time on the internet, you probably read about this thing called “Firesheep”. Read http://techcrunch.com/2010/10/24/firesheep-in-wolves-clothing-app-lets-you-hack-into-twitter-facebook-accounts-easily/ if you haven’t had a chance.

This security problem has been around for years (called Cookie Sidejacking), but it wasn’t until Monday that exploiting it was a point and click.

You’ll be glad to hear that Tanga is now largely protected from this attack! We’re using the same strategy as outlined here: http://github.com/blog/737-sidejack-prevention

The unfortunate side-effect is that we had to force everyone to login again to get the new secure cookie that authenticates you on any https page on Tanga. You will be asked to login the next time you visit a SSL-encrypted page (i.e. your account page, purchasing, etc).
